Introducing The New Campfire
Lait de Soja opted for a wooden wick, as they have become a natural alternative to traditional candles. The depth and purity of the scent throw, the calming crackling ambiance, the sustainability matter and responsibly sourced in France makes wooden wick a winner for Lait de Soja candles.
We have found that wooden wick candles have a better scent throw when burning. Wooden wick create a horizontal flame that throws more heat into your candle, so even though it burns slower and lower, a wooden wick candle will heat up our essential oils and create a scent throw into your room in less time.
Always Trim the Wick Before You Burn Your Candle
We cannot stress the importance of trimming your wooden wick. If not done correctly, the life of your candle can abruptly change.
Trim it right before you burn it every time you use it. As far as length is concerned, trim it to about 0.25 cm short. Trim the wooden wick when it has cooled off, never when it's hot. To trim the wooden wick, gently break off burned edges with your fingertips and discard.
Keep Your Candle Lit
In general, when you burn a candle, and especially the first time you burn it, you want to burn it for approximately two hours or more. The idea here is that the entire top layer is liquid before you extinguish it. That means the whole surface will burn evenly so it won’t create those dips, which can deepen, creating a tunnel for the wooden wick to become permanently lost.
